You are so correct. And I found it is worse for women. When I move to a new This mom runs on Starbucks and Disney minnie shirt or get a new job. They never know how to deal with a single woman because it’s the women who do the inviting. They have no problem inviting the single men in the neighborhood. I bought a house from a single guy several years ago. Who told me how much I would love living there as all neighbors, all married, hung out together, and he got invited to everything.
I never got invited to anything. Single women just don’t fit the profile. It isn’t a stage. I’m in my 50’s and all the women my age have grown kids. Some are divorced, some are still married. And almost none of them have a hot clue what to talk to me about. Since I have no kids and no partner, past or present. I’m starting to think I’m the only one who is finding single, no kids life in my 30s to be amazing.
