A side hobby to make a few extra dollars and retire early,those are great strategies. A 9-5 isn’t wasting life. It’s a part of life. If someone is miserable, yes get out. But a nurse could be miserable at one hospital but happy as can be at another. Environment is so important and your right, we can’t stay in environments we are miserable in, I just don’t necessarily that means avoiding 9-5 jobs. I have recently gotten into digital film making. I’ve been working a 9-5 for years and was in the army before that. One day if this hobby turns a profit and I can quit my job, great. If not, that’s ok too. But I in no way feel like I’m wasting my life. If all you have is work and no joy or purpose outside of that. Your 9-5 can quickly become a gloomy place to be.
